Sectors

Five sectors, one order book

Roughly two thirds of what we build ends up in water and wastewater. The rest keeps us honest — a business that only ever sells to one industry stops noticing its own assumptions.

The five sectors

Water & wastewater

Our largest sector, and the one we have been in longest.

Clean water pumping, final effluent monitoring, penstock and weir actuation, and the panel work that ties it together. Most of this business comes through framework contractors rather than the utilities directly, which means our equipment has to survive an installation we did not supervise and a commissioning engineer who has never seen it before. We design for that.

  • Pumping station refurbishment
  • Final effluent flow monitoring
  • Penstock and weir actuation
  • Duty/standby control panels

Food & beverage

Stainless, cleanable, and documented.

Breweries, dairies and hot-fill lines. The technical requirement is rarely the hard part — the paperwork is. Material certification, surface finish records and traceability on every wetted component, because an auditor will ask and "we think it was 316" is not an answer. We supply EN 10204 3.1 certification as standard on food-contact parts.

  • CIP circulation
  • Pasteuriser temperature control
  • Blend and dosing skids
  • Hygienic transfer duty

Chemical & process

Where the fluid is trying to destroy the equipment.

Dosing, transfer and containment for aggressive media. This is where our diaphragm pumps and PTFE-lined instrumentation earn their place, and where we spend the most time at quotation stage asking about the fluid — concentration, temperature, solids, and what happens when it is not running. Getting that wrong is expensive and occasionally dangerous.

  • Chemical dosing
  • Acid and alkali transfer
  • Bunded plant monitoring
  • ATEX Zone 1 and 2 installations

Energy & utilities

Generation, district heating and grid-adjacent plant.

Cooling water, auxiliary systems, district heating networks and standby plant. Long asset lives and long procurement cycles: customers here ask what the spares position will be in fifteen years, and expect a straight answer. We still supply parts for units built in the 1990s, which is either commendable or an indictment of how slowly we change designs.

  • Cooling water circulation
  • District heating substations
  • Auxiliary isolation
  • Standby plant control

OEM & systems integrators

Our components inside somebody else’s machine.

Machine builders and integrators who need an actuator, a panel or an instrument to a repeatable specification, delivered to a schedule, with a part number that does not change without notice. Typically higher volume, lower margin and far less forgiving on lead time — which is precisely why it keeps the rest of the business honest about delivery dates.

  • Actuators to a fixed specification
  • Panels built to customer schematic
  • Long-term supply agreements
  • Badged and private-label supply
